Month 1 – 3 and beyond. . . .
Read Read Read – One can never go wrong!
Some of the smartest people are those who read a lot. My husband has a whole lot of general knowledge because he reads everything, and I mean EVERYTHING – books, newspapers, web news, magazines, etc…
So start your child of early and watch his/her knowledge increase. They will learn a lot apart from what they are already learning by just interacting with you and the world around them. My 2 and 1/2 old daughter has had very good vocabulary from since she was little and extensive knowledge because we have been reading to her ever since. We also did Your Baby Can Read program when she was little.
Now with our little 5 month old, these are some of the baby-friendly books (photos below) we read from Months 1-3. Actually, we still read them today at 5 months but we have added some more to the pile. We read them 2 to 3 times daily, especially during our early morning routine. The key is to choose a couple simple books and read them to your baby.

Soft cloth touch and feel books – my baby loves grabbing and chewing at them while I am reading, especially the pop out bee and other popping characters in the Baby’s Bible (left).
