These Oatmeal topped baked apples are as delicious as they look.ย Bake them and eat as a snack or after a meal for a healthy treat.
One of our favorite activities to do in the Fall is to go pick apples on an Orchard. I grew up picking and eating Organic fruit from trees so having the opportunity to go pick fruit is always fun for us.
There are usually so many different types of apples to choose from on the fields. The kids usually enjoy picking and eating them from the trees.
We didn’t get much cooking apples this time neither did we get sour apples for making an apple pie either ๐ but we did pick 3 or 4 different kinds to take home. Because we didn’t get much cooking apples, we ended up eating most of them fresh (we still have a few left). I did however wanted to use a few in cooking so I made this delicious baked apples.
It’s so easy to make and so healthy too! The apples are tender and at first, I was not sure if I’d enjoy apples cooked like this but it truly amazed me! So delicious!! Think oat topping with 100% Pure Maple syrup and a sprinkling of cinnamon! There is no additional added sugar as I wanted to make it healthier. I mean, just look at it, doesn’t it look delish?!!
Eat it as is or add a little whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream (whatever your favorite healthy brand is or not). Drizzle a little extra maple syrup and an extra sprinkling of cinnamon over all for an even tastier blend of flavors. Your Fall baking has never been so tasty! Just kidding:) Let’s get to the recipe!
