A few coats of paint made it simple to add color to this decorative sphere set.
I thought that if I bought these neutral I could use them through any season because to be honest, I am the kind of person who prefers not to keep changing around decor for each season. But then I realized that I was not loving the neutral as much. Since I had these full cans of spray paints on hand, I thought I could make a simple change.
All I did was protect an area on the porch with some grocery store sales paper, laid each ball over them then sprayed each one in a desired color (being careful not to allow the colors to mix). I let them all dry out on the porch. It was a bit windy outside so I laid the paint cans on the edges and middle of the paper to keep it and the balls from blowing away.
These are two more colors that I didn’t have in spray paint form. A paint brush was OK to use with them. It seemed like all three kinds of paint (spray, chalk, regular liquid) I used worked well.
I wanted to throw in some yellow in there too but all I had was a small bottle of acrylic paint that I use for kids fun. Plus I thinking that I did’t really have any kind of yellow decor. At least I don’t think or maybe an item or two in the kids rooms.
When fully dried, the balls could be placed on a tray, vase, or bowl to decorate the coffee table, dining table, console table, kitchen island, bookshelf, just about any place you think they would look great.
This was easy and while I first loved the neutral brown, I do feel like I was not enjoying them as much and tried to make them work in a few different rooms. However, I am liking having them a little colored and they’ve been on a console table and family room.
So what do you think? Other than painting walls and large items, do you use paint for smaller decorative pieces?
