Encouraging One Another in the Lord

Thanks for Sharing!

School began 3 weeks ago and I am just now getting a chance to write this post. You can read about my student teaching post here. It was a tough start having to leave the kids at the baby sitter for the first time, and trying to juggle family, school, church, etc.  But God gave us the grace that we needed for that time in our lives. And he used others to encourage us as we continue in His plans for us.

On the first day of school these are the things I received that was such an encouragement to me. Below is a brief explanation of each.

1) A bottle of water with a verse taped to it from the school’s administrator (I’m not sure if this was meant for me; but all the teachers got one. The teacher I am working with brought it to me and said it was from the principal)…. Either way it ended up on my desk and I thought it was a really nice, encouraging gesture. The verse says, “Serve the Lord with gladness” (Psalm  100:2a, KJV).

 2) A card with an encouraging note and a Dove chocolate bar from our 4th grade lead teacher.

3) A gift from a first year transfer student with a verse on the back.  The verse says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14, KJV). There was a note at the bottom of the verse that says his family is praying for me daily. The little pair of scissors on the gift bag is handmade and so cute! Not sure if the sticky note holder is handmade, too. But they are just so cute and girly!

How encouraging! I usually look at those verses on my desk often. Sometimes, it is the little encouragement from others that keeps us going.   Praise God for others who care for us and take the time to show it in such simple ways. Let us do the same for one another!

  1. Well that certainly was a good first day….the gift of appreciation, it is always so nice to be received and to feel welcome. You have a great blog. Looks like you have put a lot of time in. So glad that we are connecting. I consider myself still a fairly new blogger, still learning a lot of new things. I am going up to see where I can follow you. F.A.B.40.
