These are some fun color no cook homemade play dough we have made. They are easy to make and safe for little mouths, too:)
Scroll down for a recipe (below).
This photo (below) looks like some kind of planet “moon” (love it)!
Recipe for no-cook play dough
Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 cup warm water
Food coloring
2 TBSP canola oil
1 cup – salt (1 -1/2 with no cream of tartar)
2 tbsp cream of tartar
(Add some glitter, if desired)
To make 4 different colors, set out 4 bowls. Divide the dry ingredients equally among the bowls (to make 1 solid color use only 1 bowl). Add in the oil and Mix well.
Divide the water per 1/4 cup in 4 bowls. Mix in desired food coloring in each.
Add the divided colored water among the bowls with the dry ingredients.
Stir thoroughly until the mixture firms up. (Add glitter at this point, if desired. I forgot to add in mine – oh well).
Using your hand, form dough.
Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. All done!
Variations:
Set out a rolling pin and some cookie cutters. The kids can roll the dough.
And cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
Makes a nice little keepsake.
Any left over dough should be stored in a ziplock bag in the fridge.
I cut out pieces of dough from each color for our toddler to use right away and saved the rest in the fridge.
I love looking at all the fun pastel colored dough!
This is such a wonderful idea! We go through playdough like nobody’s business over here. It seems to always get left out for one reason or another. I will be pinning this for sure!
My kid loves play dough, too. I really like your blog, Laura.
I just saved this as a must try with my nieces and nephews. Thanks for share. I posted this on my twitter 🙂
Thanks so much Mari…I really appreciate your support.
