New Blog Name – The “Why” Plus Two Free Printables

Thanks for Sharing!

Hello friends! Today I want to talk a little about the new direction that this blog is going. I have officially rebranded my blog to At Home With Zan. As you may already know, I have been wanting to rebrand this blog to something that feels more like me. I have sung the rebranding song for a while and have made a few announcements about names. But guys let me tell you, this rebranding “thing” is no joke. Every time I thought of a name, it seems like someone already had it. Or I felt it was too quirky. Or it just did not feel like “me” after a little while. I even debated whether I should just go with my full name or part of my name. It took me a while guys but I wanted the name to feel like me plus has some kind of clue as to what the blog is about.

“At Home With Zan” fits what I do at home and is specific but general at the same time. I am a stay-at-home mom with an M.A. and state license in Teaching. In this day and age, choosing to stay at home is such an awesome choice! I love what I do no matter how difficult it may be sometimes. So I wanted the name choice to kind of reflect “things I do at home” in a way. At Home With Zan was a choice I had debated on over and over but did not want to be just another “At Home With. . . .” out there already. After all, there are quite a few of these out there. But the other name choices just did not feel real to me. Flourishing At Home was my first name pick but I always just felt that it was not really connecting and that it was a bit too broad for my taste. But because I had it for so long, changing it did not come easy.

To be honest, I am excited but kind of scared at the same time. But I do feel better about this name and well, it is totally me. I still have a lot of changes to make as far as theme tweaks, social media updates, networks information updates, etc. But I am working “solo” so that will probably take a while. I considered bringing in outside help but paying for a rebrand can be quite pricey. Just a few tweaks in the theme was going to cost me over $150. And that is just for a FEW tweaks. I read a book from this lady who rebranded and she paid over $1,000! “Aint” nobody got money for that. But I guess if you want your stuff to mean business, you invest in it. I may not be quite tech savvy but I have always set up my themes and other blog related things for myself. It may take me a little longer but that is OK. While it may be nice to have things look different on the day of rebranding, there is no rule in a book that says they absolutely have to.

Truth be told, I was working toward having everything changed over before rebranding but it was only prolonging the rebrand. Typing this post to inform you about the rebrand then moving things afterward is working out much better for me. It is less pressure to have everything polished on rebranding day. As far as the content, I am looking into polishing it up and adding in more decor & organization, a bit of DIY, and overall budget-friendly family and home ideas.

Thanks for putting up with me (or not) on this rebranding journey guys. Hope you all get used to the new name and no judging please. Only someone who has rebranded will truly understand the struggle. If you have ever thought of rebranding, be sure to have a plan in place and that the new name resonates with you.

  1. I LOVE your new name and your rebranding! Like I told you a few days ago, it’s so you. And look at your pretty self, sitting at your desk in your beautiful home. I think I have that same backsplash in my kitchen. I can’t wait to see more of your home and the new look of your blog. Congrats on rebranding!

  2. I love your new name, it’s perfect for you and your blog. Yes, everything can really run into a lot of money with blog expenses! I’m looking forward to all the beautiful new posts I know are coming from At Home with Zan!

    1. Isn’t it so expensive to rebrand?! It is ridiculous. I was looking into a full make-over just for the blog only (not social or anything) and the cost was in the $1,000. I am content with just a new theme or old theme tweaks. Anyway, thank you so much, Shirley!

  3. Love it! Glad you found something that feels right, it’s so hard! I seem to want to rebrand every three months, but restraining myself (for now). ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck with the rest of the work on the site!

  4. I love the name and am so glad you are pleased with it!! You will be glad you took your time, even if it may have seemed tedious during the process.

  5. Great new name and rebrand!! Your doing awesome and I am glad you finally found something you loved and resonated with you. Its definitely a struggle and I know how hard and time consuming a rebrand is (as I just went through one myself hehe!).

Great work and I can’t wait to see more, keep it up.

  6. Oh, Zan! I love the new name and I am so glad you decided on something that makes you happy. I rebranded one time and you are right, it is hard in so many ways. Good for you and it makes me even more excited to see where you go with the blog. Thanks for your encouragement to me as well as your love for blogging. Your enthusiasm and creativity are contagious and give me encouragement.

    Your blogging buddy,

    Becky
