Our daughter had a wonderful time celebrating her 11th Birthday at Seaworld!
Our eldest turned 11 this past week. We celebrated her birthday in Orlando since we were there for a business trip. Originally, she had hoped to go to a Waterpark for her birthday. When we brought up Florida, and dad asked where they would like to go, she mentioned Sea World. She liked it the first time we visited and wanted to go again. Personally, my first thought was to go to Disney and make it an all in one trip for all of their birthdays (which are between the end of November and December). But the birthday girl chose Sea World so we settled for it instead.
Mermaid Birthday Cake
We ordered this lovely cake from Walmart for her birthday. I planned to cancel the pick-up until after the trip but didn’t get around to it. We got the cake the same day we were leaving for Orlando. Keeping it in the fridge until we returned was the plan. However, the birthday girl was too excited to wait. So we ate it – some of it! That was Saturday, birthday was the coming Monday.
Happy Birthday from The Resort!
We brought along some of her gifts that she opened on her birthday while we were at the Resort. You can see more of the resort here in Part 1 of our trip. She opened the others when we returned home.
A Small Carrot Cake & Cupcakes
She chose a small carrot cake & some cupcakes from Walmart grocery to celebrate at the hotel. We waited until after Seaworld in the evening to have the cake. That version of a Carrot Cake tasted terrible – honestly. Usually, Walmart’s cakes are OK (as you can see the lovely Mermaid one above), but this carrot cake was a no-no. Her expression below says it all. We love carrot cake but this taste was truly unexpected and barely any carrots.
We were ok since we had her main cake before and still some left-overs back at the house.
Pancakes for Breakfast
Each year, since our daughter was around 4, I’d make her pancakes for her birthday. Check out last year’s here. This year, I figured we would try something different. Guess what? Because we were travelling, we still ended up having pancakes. My husband suggested ihop for breakfast which was just down the street from Seaworld. She chose the birthday pancakes.
Visiting Seaworld
Here are some photos from Seaworld. This is our second trip within 2 years (we were here in 2019). You can catch that here. There is this one ride our daughter enjoyed much on our first trip and was so excited to try it again (both her and her little brother), but it was temporarily out this time. They still made the best of the other activities!
Scenes from the Entrance
The guys on these poles were saying and doing an expression of “Happy Birthday!” They would do different expressions for each group of kids that took photos with them.
A Very tall Christmas Tree
These Two Walking Hand-In-Hand With Daddy
She and I mostly hung out together as she is not a fan of high, fast rides.
We checked out some of the gift shops
Some of the Rides They Did
These are the rides they did when we were all together. I don’t have photos of the others when they were with their dad. We didn’t do any of the shows (dolphins, otters, dogs, etc) this time. You can also swim with the dolphins but that is a separate cost. There is an attic area with animals that live in the colder climates but we didn’t check that out either. The kids were mainly interested in the rides.
Roller Coaster
Sesame Street Corner – Last time we were here, there was a parade (2019)
Boat Drop
My husband, son, and daughter went on this ride. The drop is steep and fast, and it scared our daughter how fast it was. She’s usually OK with the rides but wasn’t prepared for this one. She didn’t want to go again until after we had already left Seaworld. My husband and son went on it a second time. My husband lost his hat the first time and said that things like hats and scarves were flying off others. Although it’s a very steep & fast drop, the riders seemed to be having so much fun otherwise.
Random Photos from Other Scenes
We didn’t do the shows this time but we did get a glance at some of these giant Sea Creatures swimming so beautifully. It was so wonderful to watch.
Christmas Tress in the Water
These trees were supposed to light up at night for their Christmas Light show. However, the light show wasn’t every night – only on busy days when they had a lot of people. They mentioned that over Thanksgiving Weekend, they had much going on because so many people were visiting around that time.
The Mall after Seaworld
The birthday girl wanted to have her nails done (professionally for the first time). I thought that would be fun for us girls. We checked out this Mall and couldn’t find a salon but we did find Santa and Decadent Chocolate!
Decadent Chocolate
We randomly stumbled upon this chocolate shop. I wanted to see the chocolate they had and ended up buy some for the girls. I don’t know whey I didn’t buy myself any?? Maybe it’s because they costed over $1.35 each. I just wanted a sample but no samples available. The girls started picking a few each and I just went along. Spent about $10+ for a few small chocolates but they did give a free one to the birthday girl.
You can catch Part One here of the trip if you haven’t checked it out yet.
