Play Sand Activity for Kids

Thanks for Sharing!

Playing with sand is so fun and one of the easiest activities to create for children. Our daughter has so much playing with sand; it’s one of the things I always love having on-hand.

Kids love to play with sand! Play sand is one of the easiest activities for small children as there is no prepping required. All you need is to get some sand and some Sandcastle toys. If you live next to the ocean, park, or a place that have sand, try to collect some for your little one. Otherwise, play sand can be purchased at Walmart around $4.95 a tub. One tub is big enough for a large roasting pan.

Playing with Sand

Playing with sand is not only fun but it has many benefits for kids. The possibilities are endless – The kids learn to scoop, dump, pour, and build. It’s so much fun for children. After you get the sand, dump it somewhere on the ground, in a bin or a baking/roasting pan, then let the kids play. Add some little bowls, measuring cups, spoons, and sand play toys if you have any.

Creating an Island with Play Sand

Our daughter created an island. She used some beach/sand toys along with grass. I bought these sand toys from the Dollar tree. It came in a pack with beach toys for the kids during the summer time. I love all the little scoop and pour toys the stores sell for the kids that they can use for other play too (water play, rice play, sensory bins). Seriously, it makes me want to with the toys too.
