Make these fun Pumpkin Rice Crispy Treats for your kiddos this fall; they’ll love it!
Rice Crispy Treats
Our children enjoy rice crispy treats. It started a few years ago when my husband decided to make some on a Sunday afternoon. Suddenly, it became a treat we made several Sunday afternoons for about a year or two. We don’t make them as often as we did then, so now it’s a real treat when I make it.
Fall Treats for Kids
The good thing about rice crispies is that they can be made into fun little treats for any holiday. All you will need is food coloring and a shape relating to that holiday. Hearts can be made for Valentine, Christmas trees for Christmas, Eggs for Easter, etc. Cookie cutters can be used to get several different shapes too. Since it’s Fall, I decided to make some pumpkin rice crispies for my little ones.

- Stir gently until mixed and crispies are orange.
- Spread mixture unto the prepared baking pan; allow to cool.
- Once cooled, use a pumpkin shaped or circle cookie cutter to make some shapes. You may need to use your hands to form get the shape.
- Add pretzel stick to each rice crispy to create a pumpkin shape.
- Optional – Add a small piece of candy for a leaf or a green melted candy cut into shapes.
- Note: Be sure to allow rice crispies to cool a bit before cutting. If you cut them to early, they will fall apart. However, once you have got the shapes, add the pretzel sticks before allowing the treats to get too firm.
- Serve.
These rice treats came out so cute, it’s worth making them more than once during the Fall for the kiddos. I love the very rich vibrant color on these treats.
