When God blesses, you just have to keep on going – Featured @ Money Saving Mom

Thanks for Sharing!

cupMy intent was to cut back on posting for a while. Our family has too much going on at the moment and sometimes typing another post takes too much time. I wanted a break to create our toddler’s summer preschool work. However, last Thursday, I posted the last post in my homemaking cleaning and organizing series. I discussed how I got rid of a huge clutter of mail and in return, got some debt paid off. Generally, I do not like taking about our personal debt on the blog, but I felt like there was no way around it for that particular post. You canย  read the post here – Taming Mail Clutter!

Then I submitted this post over at MoneysavingMom (MSM). I knew it was in line with the concept of her website. She accepted the post and put it up on her site, last Friday. I intended for her to put up half the post and then a read more………. at my site (only if people cared to read the entire story). Instead, she directed the entire post back to my site. Therefore, people could read it on here. That in itself was a true blessing! Here is what Crystal had to say about the post http://moneysavingmom.com/2014/05/testimonial-read-book-paid-1000-2-months.html.

And let me tell you how this post blessed others and me:

  • I had 6,044 views on Friday alone
  • I heard from others (and I saw from theย traffic) thatย it was one of the top posts on her blog
  • I received around 30+ comments from her readers
  • I gained some new followers
  • I also met a few more bloggers
  • People were inspired to de-clutter their mail.

You see,ย being featured at MSM is no small “thing”. I see it as a work of God. Crystal (the author), is well known for helping people save money and live simple lives so they can give more to God’s work. She is a dedicated Christian woman who is richly blessed by God along with her family. In addition, she is an awesome speaker, author, and has been featured on some TV shows. I so admire how structured she is in keeping her family and her business on schedule. I know she is mere human just like anyone of us and is not perfect. But she is an awesome person! Her website is one of the top sites I know of. I do not take this lightly.

So as I saw how much traffic I got because of her, it made me think twice. My site is out there and more people know about it. My blog is nothing special when compared to Crystals. I do not teach people how to save money or get their lives organized. I only blog about all the happenings we do as a family. But what ifย those readers came back for more after they read that one post last Friday? Even if one reader came back, that is still plenty. It is still a blessing! So I guess on that note, I will have to try to have some post up!

I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to be featured over at MSM. Just when I was about to cut back, He gave me much traffic. Now if only I could keep up with posting! My cup is overflowing and I know it is because of the Lord! Psalm 107:1 says, Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever.

  2. I saw the headline in the email I got from MSM, had already read your post that day but did not connect the two. Imagine my surprise when I clicked her link and it went to your blog! I was so happy for you. I don’t subscribe by email to but a few blogs and hers is one of them. (I like to go to Bloglovin to find interesting articles)
You could cut back for the summer months, I have heard that some bloggers do that. I enjoyed your home making series ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Imagine my surprise, too, when I clicked on her site! I knew I had submitted the post but her putting it up caught me of guard (LOL)! I like the idea of taking a break for the summer!

  3. Awesome! Congrats! I knew if you would just hang with it, you would be rewarded! So proud of you and your blog! When you remember that you are not in competition with anyone and you’re doing what you’re called to do, you will eventually reap the harvest of having sown good seed!
