We use the Your Baby Can Read program with our first. She loved looking at it and has learned plenty from it.
The idea is to stimulate reading abilities in kids from very tender ages, beginning around month 3 to 5 years old. It comes with 4 simple reading books, a corresponding DVD for each one, and sliding word cards. So lots of reinforcements. Each DVD is about 20 minutes long. It also has a parent DVD guide for using this program, month by month.
The books are lift-a-flap with one word pages and very simple descriptions – Parents read to kids.
Some of the pages are a little torn from over-use:)
This program is a great addition for kids along with what they are learning from their parents, others, and just the environment around them. By the time my first daughter was 8 months old, she knew many words and their meanings from this program. For more info visit yourbabycanread.com.
