Back to school shopping doesn’t quite feel the same this year as other years. However, it’s always a fun idea to get the kids motivated with a few new school supplies for the new school year. I shared some of the best backpacks for your kids back-to-school here in this post and today I’m sharing a back to school supply list for you to print to take to shopping. Back to School Shopping

We’d planned to take a day to go back-to-school shopping this year. But with everything going on, we’ve been finding it very helpful to shop as we go. Sometimes, we’d go to Walmart for grocery or other household necessities and will also pick up a few school items as we walk by the isles. The kids seem to be loving it this way. I also think it’s a great way to avoid the back-to-school shopping overwhelm.

Can we just talk back to school shopping time for a second? How does shopping for back to school take up 2-3 hours in one store? I just don’t get it. After all, the supplies are usually laid out in one section to make shopping easier, right? (at least so I think). No one has to walk all over these big stores trying to find pens on one side, pencils on the other side, and paper or folders on a separate side. Yet, shopping seems to take up so much time in the store when it comes to back to school.

In any event, we’ve been shopping as we see the supplies pop up in stores. It’s great to get the items right away that the kids may be interested in instead of waiting. Sometimes they run out of an item, color or style that they really would have loved to have (speaking from my experience). So now we like snagging something when we see it.

Back to School Supply List 2020

I created this shopping list of COMMON items we have bought regularly each school year but also included some UNCOMMON supplies for this year. Because. . . . way beyond the regular school supply this year, is the need to add more practical health care items to help the little ones. Those do not come in the form or pencils, pen, and notebooks but in the form of sanitizers, masks, vitamins, etc.

Your Uncommon School Supply List May include but not limited to:

• Hand Soap
• Hand Sanitizers
• Vitamins
• Cold and flu rubs
• Water Bottles
• Face Masks
• Facial Tissue

Add to the List – You can add to the list as you need (according to your kids ages and needs). Take it shopping to help keep you organized and to remember what you need.

Keep Your Uncommon List Close By

These are care items, I’d keep on hand. Have them close by and readily accessible for little hands, too. Consider keeping extra hand sanitizers in a basket where the kids can easily find them. Have extra face masks ready for when they go to school (send them to school with a few so they can change if needed). Give them their vitamins and immune boosters to help them, etc.

Do the best you can mama. Everyone has an opinion these days of what should be and what shouldn’t be. As a believer in the Lord, I pray that I’d do what’s best for our family and those who may need a little help. It’s why I created this lovely print to share with you. I love this verse from Proverbs 31:27 – She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
