Looking for an easy treat for your kiddos on Valentine’s day? Rice crispies are very easy and if your kids love them, they will enjoy the pink color of these favored treats. The cool thing about Rice Crispy is that they can be made for any holiday or any occasion by simply changing the color or adding toppings or add-ins. We aren’t too big on the add-ins or toppings for Rice Crispies but we did add a little bit of sprinkles this time.

Valentine’s Day Rice Crispy Treats Recipe

What you need:

  • 6 Cups Rice Crispy Cereal
  • 1 16-oz Bag Marshmallows
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Pink Food Coloring (I used the gel – it gives a very vibrant color)
  • Optional: Sprinkles (Valentine’s Color)

Directions:

  • Line a large baking pan with parchment paper; Gently spray with cooking spray and set aside
  • Using a large pot, melt butter on low heat.
  • Add food coloring, then stir. Stir in vanilla.
  • Add marshmallow and to mixture, stirring gently until melted.
  • Turn off the heat. Immediately add the rice crispies.
  • Stir gently until mixed and crispies are pink.
  • Spread mixture unto the prepared baking pan;
  • Optional – Sprinkle with Sprinkles. Allow to cool.
  • Once cooled, use a heart shaped cookie cutter to make shapes or cut into squares.
  • Note: Be sure to allow rice crispies to cool a bit before cutting. If you cut them too early, they will fall apart.
  • Serve.
