Ozark Trail Camping All-Terrain Folding Wagon
Have you noticed the latest outdoor travel gear? Or am I late too to the game? I’m talking about this “Ozark Trail Folding Wagon!” Do you have one? Recently, I’ve noticed a family or two carrying these full of items on the beach and at the zoo and though that it was such a great idea. I didn’t put much thought into getting one until we were gifted one recently. Say what?
Ozark Trail Folding Wagon Gift
I was so excited to receive an Ozark Trail Folding Wagon as a gift from my husband’s co-workers. It was his last day at work before we relocated and they threw us a party. One of the gifts they presented us was this wagon full of things for summer and especially for the beach – bubbles, beach towels, beach balls, sand buckets with scoops, etc. The idea behind the wagon full of ocean stuff was like a send off to warmer places. PA has four seasons and I think SC is just warm (hot!) altogether. This gift was such a pleasant surprise to our entire family!!!! I’m super stoked to have my own!
Too Much Gear to Carry in Hand
I mean, how many times have you (moms, dads) had to carry a ton of your kids gear in your hands on a summer adventure? Lately, that’s what it’s been to us for our adventures to places like the pool & the ocean (because that’s where we’ve been more recently). We’re always running out the door with towels and other items in hand, everyone carrying something.
Once upon a time, a little tote bag was sufficient for our outdoor adventures. All of a sudden, everyone now needs real life jackets, beach balls, individual towels, water bottles, goggles, and recently . . . . surf boards. You could only carry so much in a tote tote bag. Most of it was ending up in my hands with no room to spare for any of my own stuff.
Pros & Functions of the Ozark Trail Camping All-Terrain Folding Wagon
It can hold all your:
- camping gear & essentials
- ocean gear including chairs and surfing boards
- fishing gear(?)
- park gear
- a small kid or two (?)
- just whatever you want to throw in there.
I love the pockets on the side for smaller items or for things you’d like to keep separate from the inner cart. Such a space saver and a great item to have on hand.
It folds down:
By now it’s a given that this wagon can fold flat. You can store it away out of site in your home if you desire. Or you can fold it down for carrying in your vehicle.
Oversized Wheels:
As bonus, this Ozark Wagon is design with oversized wheels making it possible to pull through hoops & loops (kinda like army trucks). You know, they can drive through rocks, hills and mountains because of their design. This camping wagon can do similar. Don’t be afraid to haul it anywhere!
Beach Day with Our Ozark Trail Folding Wagon
A couple weeks ago, we put the Ozark Camping Wagon to the test on our day at the beach. It held all our beach gear – towels, change of clothing, kids floaties, balls, sand buckets, water bottles, snacks, etc. It was such a relief to have everything in one place as we traveled. I felt like such a queen carrying this, like I’d won some kind of award or something. And even more so when I saw a group of folks staring in wonder at our wagon (or so it seemed). Haha…. I know right! Keep it together girl; let’s not show out about it:)
Keep Your Stuff from Blowing Away in the Wind
We also had a large beach blanket spread on the sad with this close to it. However, the wind wasn’t having it that day! It was so windy that everything was blowing away. Having the wagon made it easier to keep our items in place. We were able to store the blanket along with the kids surf boards under the wagon to keep them from blowing away.
On our way home, we were even able to create room to fit the surf boards on our way home. When packed right this thing can hold so much. It’s such a space saver and a great way to keep everything in one place.
Cons of the Ozark Trail Camping All-Terrain Folding Wagon
The only problem we have with it so far is that. . . it cannot fit into the trunk of our SUV assembled. We have to put one of the back seats down in order for it to fit. The trunk of a car would be too small for the handle and possibly the length of the wagon too. However, if you have a large enough vehicle, this won’t be a problem.
What you could do if your vehicle is on the smaller side (SUV, car, small van, etc.):
- Pack the wagon, fold one of the back seats down if no one is sitting in it, then slide the wagon into your vehicle.
- Or leave the wagon empty and put all your items somewhere in your vehicle. Fold the wagon down, then place it in your vehicle. When you arrive at your destination, put all your items in it for toting.
I know this sounds contrary to what the wagon is supposed to do. But if you are going to say the beach, you’ll most likely have to park your car someplace then walk the trails to the beach, right? That’s what I mean by loading everything back to the wagon for toting down to your destination.
My Husband & I Had a Blast Carrying This Around
See, we’re not the only ones carrying it around? As I was snapping photos of my husband with the wagon while we were heading home, this family were coming to the beach with their Ozark in tour. As you can see, they have some beach chairs in their wagon. Told you, it holds everything!
Overall, I think it’s a wonderful idea to have everything in one place since I find that our beach or travel bag never seem to have enough room for everything anyways. You can find more information here on Walmart’s website about this awesome Wagon.
