The Grinch Hot Chocolate Recipe

Make this fun Grinch Hot Chocolate Recipe for your kids or for a fun family evening at home during the holidays! This is one of my favorite holiday recipes I’ve made this year – I think the pretty holiday colors have something to do with it:)

The Grinch Movie

What’s not to love about the grinch? I think it’s a funny take on Christmas and a place that no one really wants to be in. Even the Grinch himself came around to liking the festivities after all his crazy antics all season like. But I guess you can’t blame him; poor grinch was traumatized as a kid at school.

When our little boy was around 4 and 5 years old (he’s now 7), he absolutely loved the Grinch. And he got us into the Grinch-Loving Spirit too. We’d turn on the TV for YouTube shows with families and kids portraying the Grinch. Those shoes were so fun. And then we’d watch the movies during the holidays. So I thought, it was time to make fun grinch hot chocolate. Well, our son doesn’t even eat chocolate but the girls do. When we do this hot chocolate, he can have something else green. Do your kiddos love the grinch none-sense too? Try this fun recipe with them!

How to Make The Grinch Hot Chocolate

What you need:

  • 1/2 Cup White Baking Chocolate Chips (or white chocolate)
  • 3 – 4 Cups Milk
  • Green Food Coloring (if you can find green baking chips that should work, too)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Christmas Sprinkles
  • 2 Clear drinking glasses or mugs
  • Fun Holiday Straws

  • Place a skilled over low heat
  • Add chocolate, milk, and about 5 drops of food coloring (more if needed)
  • Stir continuously until chocolate has melted
  • Remove from heat
  • Pour hot chocolate into drinking glasses
  • Top with a whipped cream
  • Add sprinkles (or M&Ms would be a cool addition too)
  • A cool straw

Oh my my my, isn’t this Christmas drink lovely?! I just love colors and seriously could make this for no other reason than admiring the colors.

Note: You can always turn this Hot Chocolate into a cold drink by adding ice to it or placing it in the fridge to cool before adding the whipped cream and sprinkles.
