The seasons have been changing and here we are at our first High School Homecoming!
First High School Homecoming Dance
Well, I feel like now that we have a first child in Highschool, it may be time to talk about the changing of seasons and kids and other family lifestyle ideas.
So many times I’ve gotten focus on creating recipes, crafts, places we go, etc. that I don’t think about sharing other lifestyle posts that reflect the everyday.
Our children are growing up and there are so many areas we need to focus on as parents that more than just food and fun. Topics such as navigating the years they are in now (we have one teen, 14), Self-care, friendships, are all important areas we should be dealing with right now. Recipes, travel, crafts, etc are all part of home too but I thought it may be helpful and fun to do some non-tutorial posts that’s so heavy with photos and take a while to create. This feels just so light to grab a photo or two and chat a little.
Homecoming Dance – 9th Grade through 12th Grade
So our first daughter entered High School this year and all of a sudden, looking like a Highschooler instead of a Middle schooler.
I remember watching other bloggers’ kids in Highschool, Middle and Upper Elementary when our kids were not even school age yet. We were a young family just starting out and the thought of 8th Grade and up seemed so far away. Yet here we are and that’s OK. It means she’s where she’s supposed to be based on her age.
So here we are in this new season and we embrace it. They had their HOCO back in September. I have not heard Homecoming called HOCO until this year. I first saw it on Instagram and thought, “HOCO?” and then our daughter’s school called it the same. So I guess it’s a real acronym. But then again, we haven’t had high school kids until this year, so maybe that was a “thing” for a while now.
But my girl was ready, her little outfit looked so cute, and she stepped out in style. Say what?!! She had a fun time meeting up with a couple of friends and enjoying the evening.
Her Homecoming Dress
She picked out her dress from . She loved this color and design. I find it interesting that most of the girls dresses were similar in style and size. This one was a little bit different and not many girls had it. It was very cute.
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3).
