Beach Days – Charleston SC
When we first moved here, I was against going to the beaches. Not that anything was wrong with the beaches, that was just my personal feelings. You see, I grew up with beaches (a.k.a in the Caribbean). I did not want to be in the US and doing the same activities we did before – I wanted to try new adventures. So when I moved to Chicago, we didn’t have many beaches and somehow, the desire to go to the beach every once in a while was OK with me. Same thing when we moved to PA. Finding a beach to go to was like a treat. But now, moving to SC and know that beaches are very accessible made it feel a little too island-ish to me. It was kind of like, I had moved.
But I guess I had no choice but to get used to it again and actually now, I’m OK. There are several beaches in our area that one can easily go to, some closer than the other but all within an hour (I think).
Going to the Beach
Nobody loves a beach day than my son. But his entire intention? To CATCH stuff! LOL! Not the crab net – This boy is all about catching little sea creatures. He used to like to take them home so we always bring a little fish tank. Now he just brings a bucket but dumps whatever he catches back into the ocean. I think someone is learning to catch and release – but let’s not jinks that!
