Our 2nd daughter completed the 6th Grade school year this year, 2024-2025. She met new kids and made new friends (The little girl group was definitely cute to watch). The school year seems to be coming and going by quicker now that the girls are in Middle School. Summer also has flown by and held a lot for us so I’m just now getting around to sharing this and a couple other posts intended for earlier.
She continued in Honors class from her 5th Grade year. I believe if they’re in advanced classes in Elementary, they automatically get enrolled in Honors in the next level of school.
She was so excited to receive her awards. She received 3 awards – A Honor Roll, Math Map Scores most growth, Certification of Recognition for being prepared, respectful, showing integrity, being dedicated and engaged. I also worked as a substitute teacher at her school during the last couple of months in school, April & May.
Her friends are definitely all brilliant kids. Most of them received more than 2 awards, some three and 4. It is good to have a girl group that has their head on for sure.
And here goes my eldest who just graduated 8th Grade. You can see this post here. She got off school a week before the others since they were not required to go back after graduation. She came out to support her sister getting her awards. Then we had to rush off to my son’s 3rd grade awards (see here). Although the morning felt rushed having to get to two awards at two different schools within a 15 min timing, we were OK because it was the end of the school year. This was Wednesday and school got out 1/2 day Thursday which is 10:30 for 6th grade and 11:00 for elementary. My son didn’t go back after the awards but my daughter went on that last day of school. Either way, things felt so relieved knowing that summer break was at hand.
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3).
