Our little one, the littlest, finished up his 3rd grade year of school this year. There’s something so cute about those little grades. The little ones heading off to school with their backpacks, lunch boxes and us dropping them off to school or sometimes, them getting on that school bus. Just too cute.
My little one enjoyed his third grade school year but there were times when an extra day at home would have been appreciated. Those kids get tired or the routine and occasionally, need a little break in addition to the ones they already get from school. It’s like they start feeling the weight of the daily grind, ya know. Just like we do as adults. We appreciate those little random breaks from work or things that just feels a little monotonous.
But anyways, he has been learning and growing and it has shown throughout the school year. He’ll come home and talk about something he has learned or curios about why what he has learned doesn’t seem like it’s the right concept and he’s received awards throughout the school year and received another one for the end of the school year.
Some of the awards he has gotten were for A Honor Roll every quarter, Charactering building certificates for Citizenship, and was placed in SAIL which is a program for advanced learners where they met every Friday for Enrichment learning.
He was so excited for summer, that he asked if he could leave after the awards and not go back for the last !/2 day of school which was the following day. The kids were given this option to go home after the awards and many of them left early, while some, especially those whose parents could not show up for the awards or had some work commitment to go back to or had a sibling in another class to wait for (or whose parents were like nah), stayed back in class. This was his homeroom teacher and also for English and Social Studies (floral dress) and his co-teacher for Math and Science. I know my son looks taller than a lot of the kids but he is what he is:)
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3).
