Our youngest turned 11 back in December. Deciding what to do for his birthday was based upon his current interest. He wanted to gather a couple of friends and play soccer. However, upon reaching out to the Recreation center and other fields, everything in our nearby area was booked but we found a park where there was no reservation. It was a little further away than we wanted but it’s a beautiful newly built park that caters for Special needs children also.
Since we took the party out to the area and invited a bit more kids than originally desired, we decided to add something more than just regular soccer. The main activity for his party ended up being Bubble Soccer. Bubble soccer is not a common type of soccer you see everyday. This is the second time we’ve had this type of soccer at his party, with the first being when he turned 9.
The Bubble soccer was so much enjoyed by the children the first time around, we thought it would be a great idea for this time to keep the soccer theme he wanted. While most kids enjoyed it, some of them got bored and one or two didn’t like it (mainly the little boys). I was surprised though since it was so fun for the kids when we first did it. The ages had ranged between 5-13, I believe. This time, the ages ranged from 7- 13, with a couple of the kids there from the previous Bubble soccer party. On the other hand, the girls, tweens and early teens, had an absolute blast!
for this Bubble Soccer activity, the kids got into the balls and battled each other. It was a very windy day so some of the balls kept rolling away into the streets when they weren’t in use. The hosts of the Bubble soccer weren’t able to do a “soccer” part of the part with the balls since it was so windy.
I did not take photos from the park area that day but you can see a shot here. Overall, the party was fun and we were happy we pulled it off despite the windy-ness of the day!
