Spooky Halloween Snack Tray for Kids

I absolutely love creating snack boards for our children. They are so fun to put together, fun to eat and a great way to have kids pick their favorites! I always make Fall Trays, Christmas Trays, Spring or anytime Snack Boards but Halloween boards seem to get left behind. I’ve focused so much on all the Fall foods that by the time it got to Halloween, we rarely did much as far as food is concerned. But we did bake and decorate cookies, eat all the Orange Halloween Oreos, Ghost Marshmallows, and enjoyed an occasional Halloween Themed Snacking Board. I just never really had the time to share them here.

How to Put Together a Halloween Snacking Tray/Snack Board for Kids

With all the cool-looking, colorful snacks on the Market during the holidays, you just can’t go wrong with a creating a snack board. And if you desire, you can use foods you already enjoy that is not customized for the holidays. For example, you can create a theme around the Halloween colors. My tray is Red/Black/White.

  • black Corn Chips
  • Blackberries
  • Strawberries and Raspberries
  • Grapes
  • White Marshmallows
  • I usually love to balance things out by adding both sweet and savory and throwing in one or two different types of fruits surrounding the holiday colors I’m going for.

Other colors – purple, green, and orange are also popular Halloween colors. Use a mix of colors to bring your snack tray to life.

Make it Spooky

There are dozens of items out there to help you create a Spooky Halloween Snack Tray. Just take a look at the Target, Walmart or Dollar Tree shelves. Use any small Halloween decorative items plus Food shaped in Halloween colors and creatures.

To make this Halloween Snack Tray Spooky, I added Halloween pretzels in bats and Jack-O-Lantern shapes, Skeleton Shaped Cinnamon snacks, edible eyeball and other Halloween sprinkles, and Boo + Ghosts Marshmallows (find my recipe here). Fake spiders, black necklaces, plus a couple orange and black small snakes were later added too. These are all items plus more that you can use to make a Spooky Halloween snack tray.
