These Tie-Dye Clothing were a fun summer activity to do with the kids and made cool additions to their Independent day outfits!
The kids made these tie-dye shirts, hats and headbands for the 4th of July, with a some of the headbands and bows dyed in unicorn colors.
They enjoyed the activity as they each worked toward the final goal – how they desired their shirt to turn out.
Why Tie-Dye?
Tie-Dye-ing is a fun activity kids can do at home. It helps kids to express their creativity and unique style. Kids can choose from a variety of products to tie-dye and preferred colors to match. Things we need.

- headbands

- shoes
How We Made These Tie-Dye t-Shirts
What we used:
- A tie-dye dying kit such as this one
- T-Shirts – Plain white
- Or hats, headbands
We followed directions on the tie-dye kit for tie-dyeing the shirts.
I’m a little disappointed that I accidentally delete some of the original step-by-step photos where the kids were doing tie-dying. It was so fun watching them, the joy on their little faces.
And then my daughter wanted to write Happy 4th of July on her shirt. She also wrote and drew some stars on her brother’s shirt. They looked cute.
The shirts were pretty wrinkled after they were rinsed, wrung and dried.
The kids were happy to wear their shirts for fireworks on the 4th of July.
