Ladies and Gentlemen alike, if you’re looking to add more collagen to your intake, this post is for you! This post is sponsored by Naked Nutrition. All opinions of Naked Nutrition Collage are my own.
I tend to stay away from Protein Powders because I just can’t get used to the taste or after taste of them. Back in January, I decided I wanted to start taking Collagen since I’ve heard good things about them. I started searching for a combination of Collagen and Biotin for hair and skin also since my hair has been sort of thinning out and breaking easily. I did some reviews and sort of stopped through the busyness of life and also, not making it a priority. That’s why it was so timely when Naked Nutrition offered to let me try their brand of Collagen Peptides. I jumped right on it!

What’s Collagen?
Collagen is “the most abundant protein in your body. It accounts for about 30% of your body’s total protein. Collagen is the primary building block of your body’s skin, muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments, and other connective tissues. It’s also found in your organs, blood vessels and intestinal lining”. Why Naked Collagen?
Ladies, so many of us desire our Hair, Skin, Nails, and Joints to be just as they were during our earlier years. This a great way to bring back some of that without the extra additives found in some Protein Powders. It just seems right! I was very surprised at the huge jar of Protein Powder that came!
Naked Collagen is pure and plant based right from the source. Go here to check out all the benefits Naked Collagen has to offer. I don’t know about you, but as I’ve gotten older, things have started to look a little differently. My nails chip off more, fingers a little more wrinkly, hair thinning out, etc. How about those bones and muscles that seem to ache and break easier than before? You can help slow this by taking a good Collagen. Your body needs protein. And all of that is part of life as we grow older. While things got to be the way things got to be as our bodies mature, I believe some things could be better if we treat our bodies the correct way.
Notice workout fanatics taking Protein Powders after working out? That is a way to build back up muscles to keep them strong. I’m a workout fanatic and I have started taking Naked Collagen after a workout.
What is Naked Collagen Made From?
Here’s what Naked Nutrition has to say about this Collagen Protein Powder: “Naked Collagen has only one ingredient: Bovine hide collagen peptides sourced from pasture-raised cows in Europe. It is odorless, tasteless, and easy to mix in with your favorite drinks. Each serving includes 9 grams of protein and only 35 calories. Naked collagen is free of additives and artificial sweeteners. We are committed to shortening the steps between our farms and you. Don’t let the supplement industry fool you; additives are for their bottom line, not your health”. Source – Naked Nutrition
Trying Naked Collagen
I’ve been trying Naked Nutrition Collagen Protein Powder for a few weeks now. Below is all the ways I’ve tried it in food. As mentioned earlier in this post, I have not noticed any distinct odor, taste or color when mixed into foods.
This is how I’ve used Naked Collagen Over the Past Few Weeks
Day 1
I added 2 Tablespoons of Naked Collagen to 16 oz of Water. I was surprised it had no distinct taste as I was expecting. The water had a slightly yellow tint but as far as the taste, there was not that much of a difference.
Check out my video tutorial here
Day 2
I added it to a Smoothie (1 to 2 scoops). Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie is a delicious and a favorite of mine. The Collagen taste is not evident in this recipe – no distinct taste and also no color when mixed in. Visit this post for how to make it or add it to your favorite smoothies.
Day 3
Lemon Blueberry Muffins – Add 1/4 Cup (4 Tablespoons) to Homemade Muffin Mix. These muffins are so delicious you’ll want to give them a try! This Collagen will be great to add to more baked goods and breakfast recipes such as Pancakes and waffle mixes. Check out these lovely, delicious Lemon Blueberry Muffins I recently made and added to it.
Day 4
Morning Coffee – I added about a 1/2 scoop to a cup of coffee and another 1/2 to the milk frother. The first time I tried this, it made me a bit nauseas but I think I had too much. I lessoned the amount next time to 1 tsp each in Coffee and frother and that seemed to work so much better.
Day 5
Salad Dressing – I made a little Salad dressing to drizzle over my rice bowl. I love these kinds of bowls but rarely make them at home myself. Recently, I had some Salmon in the fridge and decided to make some kind of bowl from it. It turned out so well. So this time I tried another kind with chicken since I had no Salmon.
Make the dressing by adding 1/2 Tablespoon You could simply added the Protein powder to your already-made favorite salad dressing before adding it to your food (this could be pre-made or homemade Salad dressing).
Results from Trying Naked Collagen
I think it will take a few weeks, maybe months to notice a strong difference. But from the times I’ve added it to water or recipes, things sure felt like I was eating cleaner. Adding it to water seem to help boost my energy levels.
