Birthday Party Ideas for 15 Year Olds

Thanks for Sharing!

So our eldest turned 15 back in November. It’s interesting to see the changes that have come about the past couple of years, figuring out her style and fitting in with others. As a parent, I just want to say you really don’t have to try so hard. The reality however is that kids are faced with a lot of feedback & influencing from their peers, whether that be in school, online, in Church, or out and about in public, or other group settings. They want to keep up and they feel pressured to do so.

How We Celebrated Our Daughter’s 15th Birthday

Anyways, for this 15th birthday party, I, as her mom, imagined having a formal dance where she gets all dressed up for it. Something like a Quincera in the Hispanic culture. However, she did not want this. What she wanted instead was to mainly stay home, eat her favorite birthday breakfast which is pancakes topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, go out to do an activity and then have lunch or dinner out, then back home for cake.

The day did not turn out as hoped. Things took a really big turn and we ended up going out to TopGolf for a bit instead. However, we did celebrate 2 weeks later with a sleepover with friends and an Escape room.

I got to say, the Escape room was so much fun to do. Everyone enjoyed it. I think if the cost was a lot less we’d probably do a second one that same day.

After the Escape room, we went to the local outlets for a bit. The kids enjoyed checking out Claire’s then having ice-cream and treats. They didn’t interested in going to other stores because shopping wasn’t really pre-plan to be able to budget money for it. Someone suggested 5 Below but we didn’t end up going, we went home instead.

At home, the kids made slime and had a blast making it. It was fun to watch them put their own twist on things and how each person’s slime texture seemed to turn out differently

Birthday Party Ideas for 15 Year Olds

  • Escape Room – This was such a fun activity. The only con is that it’s expensive for 45 minutes. At the end of the activity, we wanted to do another one but that would have been around another $300. There were 7 of us total.
  • Top Golf – Kids and families seem to enjoy Top golfing. It’s a set-up like bowling where everyone takes a turn and a machine records your score.
  • Bowling – We had a party at the bowling alley before & we were allowed to bring in a cake but got food and drinks there
  • Paint Class – Maybe Canvas painting? If your daughter is into painting, a painting class with friends can be a birthday party idea for her.
  • Cooking Class – Gather a few friends to take a cooking class. After the class, they can go out for dinner and hang out.
  • Dance Party – I tried to think of how this can be done and visualized it with a DJ, board games and other games, food, chatting. The kids can do other activities instead of just having music playing in the background. At some point, the DJ can have them do a few dances to certain sons. This can be moves he asks them to do or play songs that’s for group dancing.
  • Movie – Popcorn and a movie with friends or family at the theatre is a fun idea.
  • Shopping (if it fits the budget) and Lunch or dinner depending on the time frame you go shopping. I’d say take your daughter and a couple of her friends to go shopping at favorite teen-friendly stores. They’re into skin care, make-up and clothing at this age, so keep these in mind as you look up best places for teens to shop. In this case, you may have to save up enough money to give each birthday invitee a little something to shop.
  • If you live near an amusement park, a birthday trip there is always a fun time for kids. It  could just be family or take along a friend or two.

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3).
