The kids are almost out of school for Summer break. Can you believe it? Do you travel with your kids for summer? By the way, check out some of our travel must-haves for the whole family here.

Last Summer, we travelled to Chicago with my husband for a business trip. The hotel we stayed at was so fun. It was a 5 star hotel, in the heart of the city, with a beautiful view. Not only were we thoroughly impressed with the location and the view, but also with the hotel’s design, the rooms and with the services provided. Imagine my delight when I realized the room had a Nespresso machine with good Nespresso pods and not just any old Nespresso pods but ones on brand. Well, at least they didn’t taste cheap. It was a large, fancy Nespresso Machine too. It took me a bit to figure out how to use it but when I did, I was hooked. Although only for a day or two because I did not realize there was a machine sitting there to use (or did I)? Either way, I was happy to discover it.

The Hotel Where we Stayed
We walked in to ooh’s and ahh’s. It was a gorgeous hotel with a beautiful view of the city.

These are photos we took on our trip. I have meant to share these earlier but had other priorities.

What we ate on the Trip
Mainly what I ate since I tend to take photos of my meals on Trips.

On the Way there – Late at night so not much was opened. I had this Loaded Baked Potato from Wendy’s.

Panera Bread

I believe this was Golden Corral for one of the Lunches or Dinners

Red Lobster

Portillo’s Restaurant

And of Course, Deep Dish Pizza
We ate at Giordano’s – Deep dish mainly Dad (my husband) and I.

The kids had regular pizza at Giordano’s – It tasted good. They loved it.

Bagels on the Way Home

No trip isn’t completed without trying some good coffee.
I usually get Starbucks but have been trying different coffee’s lately.

Our Second Hotel Stay

We did some Back-to-School Shopping at DD’s and the Woodfield Mall before heading back.

I have more photos to upload with the hotel and and others from the trip but this post has been sitting in my drafts for a while now so I wanted to post it.
