New School Year for the Kids (2026-2027)
New School Year for the Kids
Our kids started back with the new school year and are now in Grades 10, 8 and 5. Wow! I am amazed that we are here in these upper grades but technically, it’s the grades according to their ages.

Last year, they all had to moved schools either to the next level in a different nearby location or to a different school although.
Grade 6 is a separate campus from the 7th and 8th so my second daughter had to move to that campus for 7th grade. That means she’ll be in 8th at the same campus.

Meanwhile, my high schooler moved out of that same 7th and 8th campus to the High School campus – it’s 9th to 12th grade. Both campuses are close by so that’s a plus.

My son transferred to a new elementary school last year. We did school choice (lottery) and got into the one of the selected schools. This year, he is transferring back to the new school.

While the change was a welcome one, I believe there were some missing of friends and familiarity. His 4th grade school is a bit further away and was a drive I imagined not liking at the beginning of the school year. However, it became something I got used to and at times, even felt relaxing.
Nonetheless, he will be transferring back to his original school this year. He has expressed the desire to transfer and while I had mixed emotions and he did too, I think he finally settled on going back. I guess family and friends.

She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness (Proverbs 31:27).
