This Fall, take a little walk around your neighbourhood with the kids and let them collect leaves, acorns, pine cones and other Fall finds from nature.
“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” Albert Camus
You’ve probably heard this little saying about “Autumn being a second spring and every leaf becoming a flower”. I have to agree as the wonderful Fall foliage graces and lines our streets and homes with their beautiful shades of colors of reds, oranges, yellows, & browns.
Collecting Fall Leaves, Acorns & Pine Cones
We can’t help but take walks & bike rides while we enjoy the each scenery and collect leaves, acorns, and pine cones. Our little son loves to collect sticks on some of our walks, too. But those leaves . . . . they seem to be what we collect most since they’re just everywhere. Fall is the most wonderful with those rich, vibrant colors! I’m constantly reminded of our Master Creator who made all things just so beautiful! Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” (taken from the KJV).
Our 7 year old daughter is a collector of all THE things and always so happy to add to her collection. These are just some photos of one of our nature collecting afternoon. Take your kids outside for nature walks, find a pile of leaves to jump in, collect leaves, create a project, just let them have fun in nature!
